Sewing and Baking with Julia

Julia came down for a baking and sewing night. We brewed a pot of coffee and got to work. Julia's goal: to finish a nursing blanket for Ruth, one of her friends from college. My goal: While perusing an old Southern Living magazine, I found some delightful pound cake recipes. So, I chose to make the Lemon Coconut cake. I carefully followed the recipe, while Julia created her own pattern. Julia took pictures of different fabrics and sent them to Ruth.. She chose this beautiful print.
Cutting and ironing!!
The happy little seamstress.
Doesn't that look delicious? I'm not saying mine's going to look like that, but I'm hoping it will taste wonderful.
All the fresh ingredients...
Just the right amount...
Add eggs one at a time...
This was my finished product.. It doesn't look as good as the one in the magazine but, it was so moist and great with our coffee...Midnight coffee...
Hot out of the oven...The zest of lemon made the house smell so good.
Julia also made this little pillowcase dress for her niece, Sydney.
Mission accomplished!! It looks beautiful and I know Ruth's going to love it. We had such a fun evening sewing and baking...Looking forward to finishing our next projects. It's late and we had better call it a night.. A good night:)

Disney Hotel Hoppin with Tommy

We met at my house for pizza and then took off to Orlando. Tommy is taking us Hotel hoppin!!
I love the Monorail, we rode this to the Contemporary Hotel.
We took the boat to Ft. Wilderness.
They have added an addition on to the Contemporary Hotel, we went to the very top!
Our first stop, Animal Kingdom Lodge.
We're off and running with our wonderful tour guide, Tommy! We loved looking at all the African animals.
The Lord designed this guy so beautifully.
And of course, my personal favorite!! How adorable this little one was.
David and Tommy enjoying their time together.
Rajendra, Jyoti and Sundesh.
The whole gang, minus one or two.
Inside the magnificent Lodge. Jordan and I stayed here a few years ago with Kat Keener and Matt.
Jyoti and Aunt Jan making a little African music.
Sundesh found his souvenir.
Prashana liked this dress.
And of course I found mine.
Our second stop, the Wilderness Lodge. Tommy looking comfortable.
The Lodge is gorgeous and huge!
Jan and Sam liked this fireplace...
Josh, Sundesh, and Emett resting before we head over to watch the fireworks.
We found a great spot on the dock.
The fireworks were beautiful!
Tommy found us a great place to cool off and get ice cream:) It was a hot, muggy, Florida night.
The kids were loving it!
On the Monorail, heading to the Contemporary Hotel.
We went to the top of the "World". What a view!
The tired, but happy little group enjoying the boat ride back. Thanks Tommy for a great night out on the town!
This was our last night together, I love this pic of Jordan and Prashansa playing together.
Saying Goodbyes are always hard.
Sweet Fellowship!!
Jordan and his little cousins. Prashansa says he is still her big, sweet handsome!
Jyoti made us some Nepali tea and it was delicious. Jan and Julia said it reminded them of Fall. She uses Cardamom (a fragrant Asian spice, of the ginger family) lots of sugar and milk..
Jyoti played and we all sang Hymns.
Jord and Rajendra played together. Prashansa directed.
My favorite thing is when Rajendra shares his heart with us, and He can't do it without Jyoti. She has to translate for him. A true picture of husband and wife being one. He shared from Ephesians. It was a blessing to us. I thank the Lord for my little missionary family. We had a wonderful week together... I'm going to miss them.
